Caverion Sverige AB has received the contract of implementing significant energy saving measures in Mora municipality properties. The focus on energy efficiency in Mora municipality properties will improve the environment and cut the energy costs by approximately 500 000 euros per year. The municipality's total property holdings of approximately 120 000 square meters has been analysed by Caverion and resulted in a detailed decision basis regarding measures for heating, ventilation, electrical, control and building envelope per property object.
- The goal for Mora municipality is to reduce the energy use in public buildings by 2015 with profitable measures. Energy efficiency improvement is financed by savings, says Bengt-Åke Rehn, municipal executive board chairman and is backed by the municipality board's 1st vice chairman Anna Hed (C) and the opposing council Malin Höglund (M).
The agreement is called EPC, Energy Performance Contracting, where Caverion will guarantee the savings and reduce the financial risk of Mora. Mora municipality gets all the calculated savings which are going to finance the project. If the guaranteed savings are not achieved then Caverion will make up the difference.
- It is exciting to be entrusted with implementing one of Scandinavians largest energy-saving projects in the public sector. We will use all of our expertise, experience and resources to deliver an exceptional project, says Ulf Kareliusson, CEO, Caverion Sverige AB.
The total investment volume amounts to slightly more than 9 million euros, and through the project Mora municipality will be one of the five most energy efficient municipalities in Sweden. The project will create 35-40 new local job opportunities during the project's three years and at least double the number of job opportunities in the region's factories, transportation and other service areas.
