Caverion delivers building systems to Wohlgelegen conference centre in Germany

Caverion will be responsible for the planning and execution of building systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation facilities and building automation of WTZ conference centre in Heilbronn, Southwest Germany. The contract is worth approximately EUR 4.5 million. The installation of equipment has already started and is projected to last until September 2014.

Building's conferencing facilities, kitchen and restaurant ventilation systems output is 45,000 m³/h. These areas will be kept cool by two absorption refrigeration machines. The temperatures in the office areas and the Sky Bar will be kept at the desired level by a compression heating and cooling system. Heating for all areas comes from two pellet plants and a vacuum and collector system with a total output of 400 kW. This means that the air handling systems, air conditioning units, underfloor heating, absorption refrigeration machines and water heaters can be supplied with heat energy whenever needed.

Standing 16 storeys high and elliptical in shape, "WTZ" will form the centrepiece of the Future Park Wohlgelegen. As well as state-of-the-art office and laboratory spaces, the building will also accommodate central infrastructure and service facilities, such as multimedia conferencing and meeting facilities. WTZ III aims to achieve the Silver DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen e.V.) certification.
