Caverion has secured a contract with Austrian hotel group Parkhotel Altaussee GmbH to install heating, sanitation, cooling, ventilation, swimming pool water technology, fire extinguishing and control systems at hotel Viva Salis in Altaussee, Austria. The value of the project is about EUR 4.5 million and it covers design and engineering, project management and project execution. The work on site is already underway and will be completed in spring 2015.
The total surface area of the building is about 15,000 m² and it includes 57 guest rooms. All areas of the hotel complex will be fitted with mechanical supply and return air devices with heat recovery units, with a total output in the region of 75,000 m³/hour. In the spa area, the ventilation ducts will be plastic, which is corrosion-proof against salt and chlorine. Two separate multi-layer filter systems will condition the water for the salt-water pool and bathing area.
Special aspects of the spa were taken into account when designing and fitting the technical systems into the spaces. For instance, rapid warming systems using additional air heaters will be fitted in the guest bedrooms and medical treatment areas. To ensure a balanced room temperature, 6000 m² of under-floor heating will be laid and connected to a gas condensing boiler system.
Due to the geographical location and climate conditions of Altaussee, the health spa will be conditioned solely through ventilation, with the air change rate based on hygienic requirements rather than a set room temperature.
