Caverion has secured a contract with general contractor Ove Skår AS to install ventilation, air conditioning, electricity, security, safety and automation for a new office building in Sarpsborg, Norway. The total value of the contract is EUR 2.3 million and it includes design and engineering, project management and execution. The work on site is already underway and will be completed in January 2015.
The office building is owned by real estate developer Kalnes Eiendom and it has a total surface area of approximately 6 200 m2. The building is being constructed as a passive house which means it has an energy consumption of about 25 per cent of a conventional building. The project emphasises meeting high environmental standards with respect to choice of materials, building methods and waste management. Lighting, heating, cooling and ventilation can be individually adjusted in each room. In this way, energy consumption will be low, without compromising the users' comfort.
The ClimaCeil solution developed by Caverion will be installed in the new building. ClimaCeil gathers all technical installations in one element, including ventilation, electrical and ICT cables, sprinklers and pipes.
“In addition to ensuring a good indoor climate, ClimaCeil makes it easy to move, remove, or set up interior walls. This results in great savings on alterations that may occur during the course of the building's life cycle,” says Department Manager Odd-Børre Pedersen from Caverion Norway.
