Caverion signs over EUR 6 million contract for electrical installations to Norwegian National Rail Administration

Caverion has signed an electricity project execution agreement with Norwegian National Rail Administration (Jernbaneverket) to deliver both high and low voltage electrical systems to the upcoming Høvik station and the Lysaker–Sandvika line renovation project. Project execution started in February 2014 and the aim is to complete the project in January 2015. The value of the contract is over EUR 6 million.

The project is part of Norwegian National Rail Administration’s “Greater Oslo Project” that includes extensive renovation and improvement of the rail lines between Oslo Central Station and several different stations. The aim of the construction work is to make services more on-time and improve the number of passenger train connections. Over 60 million passenger trips are taken by train in Norway annually.

"The project is of great significance to public transport in the whole of the most densely populated part of the country - Eastern Norway - and is an important part of the new rail line restructuring," says Gro Elden, Communications Consultant at the Rail Administration.
