Caverion to implement HVAC work for Hospital District of Northern Savo’s Säde Building in Finland
Caverion and the real estate administration of the Hospital District of Northern Savo have signed an agreement on the HVAC work and design management for the Säde building of Puijo Hospital. The value of the agreement is approximately EUR 4 million. The installation work will be fully completed in summer 2015.
Caverion will assume responsibility for installing the heating systems, water and wastewater systems, ventilation systems and refrigeration systems of the Säde building. The agreement also covers the installation of the compressed air systems required in a hospital building as well as separate exhaust system and purified water system. Hospital buildings contain a number of special premises, such as clean rooms, infection wards, lead-lined premises and autopsy rooms, the implementation of which requires special solutions and execution management.
Cancer treatment and pathology functions will be integrated into the Säde building. The building has two underground floors and three floors above ground. The building is connected to the current tunnel network of the main hospital.
The Säde building is being constructed on the plot of Puijo Hospital during 2013–2015. The excavation and foundation work of the project commenced in autumn 2013. The floor area of the three-storey building is approximately 10,000 square metres. The construction costs of the Säde building are EUR 27 million.
