Caverion to provide total technical solution for a new school building in Levanger, Norway

Caverion will deliver total technical solution for the new Levanger Junior High School in Central Norway. The contract includes heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, electricity, information and communication services as well as security and safety and automation. Caverion is responsible for design & engineering, project execution and project management. The contract is worth EUR 3.3 million.

The work will start in July 2014 and is scheduled to be complete in August 2015. The developer is Levanger Municipality and the general contractor is Fuglesang-Dahl.

"It's beneficial to have all the technical solutions provided by one company. If you split the contracts up, it means the main contractor has to do a lot more coordinating. When we only work with one partner, the responsibilities are clear," says Jan Erik Renslo, Project Manager at Fuglesang-Dahl.

The new Junior High will be 6,500 m² in size and have space for approximately 550 pupils. The building will have a library, two well-equipped science labs, computer rooms, kitchen and rooms for art & crafts and other electives. There will also be a stage for shows and concerts. Outside there will be 60 car parking spaces and 250 bicycle parking spaces.

"The school building will be here for decades so it’s important that the particular features of the building are adaptable," says Project Manager Svein Roger Troset from Levanger Municipality.

"We deliver flexible, energy-efficient lifecycle solutions to the school. For example ventilation and temperature can be adjusted as necessary," says Arild Holthe, Project Manager at Caverion.
