Caverion provides building systems for the renovation of two high-rises in Berlin, Germany

Caverion has started a large project on delivering building systems for the former GSW high-rises in Berlin, Germany. Caverion, together with UNDKRAUSS Baugesellschaft mbH Berlin, is acting as a technical general contractor responsible for the project execution. The value of the project is not disclosed.

The building systems will be renewed in conjunction with an extensive renovation of the high-rises. The renovation of the buildings, with a total surface area of 22,000 square meters, is scheduled to be completed in ten months. Caverion’s delivery covers the technical disciplines of ventilation and air-conditioning, cooling, heating and fire protection.

The older one of the two office towers, with 17 floors, was originally completed in 1961 and it was one of the big construction projects in Berlin in the 1950’s. The newer building, with 21 floors, was opened in 1995 and its distinct, Berlin-known architecture of characteristic coloured façade elements has been awarded several times. After completion, the buildings will have over 2,000 modern workspaces and form the headquarters of German internet business company, Rocket Internet.

The work is expected to be finished by July 2016. This project is part of real estate owners and developers client segment.
