Caverion provides total technical solutions for senior centre in borough of Leppävaara in Espoo, Finland

Caverion has signed an agreement with the general contractor YIT for a total delivery of building systems for the “Elä ja asu” senior centre in Leppävaara, Espoo. The project has been commissioned by the City of Espoo. The contract covers heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, cooling, electricity and security and safety systems.

Caverion is in charge of project management and project execution. The value of the agreement is approximately EUR 5 million.

The senior centre, scheduled to be completed by the end of 2016, will have 140 small apartments for elderly people with health problems. On the ground floor, there will be a service centre with facilities such as a restaurant and home care contact point.

“The senior centre is a challenging project because of the complexity of the systems. It is a pleasure to be involved in creating safe apartments equipped with state-of-the-art technology for senior citizens. The project is one of many similar ones carried out during our successful long-term cooperation with YIT. Our teams know each other, so the cooperation will be on solid ground, ” says Jarno Hacklin, Executive Vice President & CEO, Division Finland.
