Caverion to deliver the building systems for the Suviniitty parking facility in Espoo, Finland

Caverion has signed an agreement with YIT on the delivery of building systems to the Suviniitty parking facility located in Espo. Caverion will act as YIT’s building systems partner in the project. The value of the agreement is not disclosed.

Caverion is responsible for the project execution of building systems, and the delivery covers heating and sanitation, ventilation and air conditioning, cooling, electricity and security and automation systems.

The parking facility is realised as a turnkey project which was scored based on the quality and price of the quotes. The weighting of the quality was 40% and the price 60%. The chosen design solution received full quality scores from all areas: technical quality, functionality, architecture and absence of risks.

The building systems solutions and equipment chosen for the parking facility and the adjacent multi-purpose space are based on good life-cycle economy, technical quality, energy efficiency as well as good flexibility and adaptability. These guarantee the healthy, safe and efficient use of the building. The building’s automation system can be linked to the City of Espoo’s centralised system, and the building will be linked to Caverion’s remote control and 24/7 HelpDesk service.

“We have realised many parking facilities in good cooperation with YIT, and this project’s contract model has provided the chance to develop solutions that are as functional and as economical from a life cycle perspective as possible,” says Riku Mandelin, Vice President at Caverion.

The City of Espoo develops the Suviniitty area, and the parking facility to be constructed is part of the area’s centralised parking solution that includes emergency shelters and provides a possibility for residents’ rooftop gardening. Approximately 240 spaces for passenger cars will be built in the car park.

YIT belongs to Caverion’s general contractor client segment.
