Caverion has signed an agreement with general contractor 5E-BYG in Denmark on the delivery of building systems for Aabenraa Hospital, phase two. The agreement includes Project Execution for the technical disciplines of Electricity, Heating & Sanitation, Ventilation, Cooling and Security systems, including Fire Protection System and Warning, Intruder Alarm System, Access Control System and Patient Call. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 14 million. This is Caverion’s fourth project at the hospital.
In phase two, the acute hospital in Aabenraa, Southern Denmark will expand with a new construction of 22,280 square meters. The project will start in June and includes the creation of new wards and outpatient clinics in a number of specialties, including intensive care. After the expansion, the hospital will also have additional laboratory facilities, improved services, additional parking and a helipad with direct access to the emergency department.

Caverion’s three former projects at Aabenraa Hospital phase one were finished in 2014-2015. The project now announced will start in June 2017 and will be completed in September 2020. The project belongs to Caverion’s public sector client segment.
The functional objective of the project is to create a coherent whole where the new construction is optimally integrated in the existing structure and where buildings, interior design and logistics support future activities for the benefit of patients and staff. The hospital building in Aabenraa is a quality fund project funded by the state.
