Caverion to implement building technology of Biotope Office’s "The Brick" in Austria

Caverion has signed a contract with general contractor STRABAG for an ecologically innovative multi-use building complex "The Brick" at Wienerberg in Vienna, Austria. The value of the contract is approximately EUR 8.8 million.

By 2019, two new buildings will be built on the site between Triester Straße and Biotope City, designed in the style of old commercial buildings with green brick facades and a landscaped environment.

The Biotope Office developed by SORAVIA consists of innovative loft offices, restaurants and shops, and attractive communal areas. Caverion will be responsible for building complete HVAC and sprinkler systems, including fire protection and insulation, as well as implementing a building automation systems. The building consists of 3 basement floors and 10 upper floors with a total gross area of approximately 44,500 m².

"We have mastered many similar projects in the past with solid expertise. The challenge for Caverion in this project is the relatively short building period. At the moment we are in the assembly planning phase, which runs in the background of the project," says Manfred Simmet, Senior Vice President and CEO of Caverion Austria.
