Caverion’s 10 main IT vendors commit to sustainability goals – Microsoft, TietoEvry and others help to reduce CO2 emissions from IT
Caverion’s major IT partners, including Microsoft, TietoEvry and Foxway, are committed to sustainability goals in their operations with the company. This is a concrete way for Caverion to turn its sustainability targets into measurable actions in the supply network.
“We are really happy that our ten major IT partners have been willing to take this challenge and commit to common sustainability goals. We need our partners to reach our CO2 reduction plans and together we can also show example in the IT industry,” says Heikki Linnanen, Chief Information Officer at Caverion.
Based on its own sustainability targets, Caverion has set six measures for its IT partners, including reporting carbon footprint of the services and products delivered for Caverion, science-based emission reduction, diversity and supplier audit practices and frequency in their supply networks. The key performance indicators will be followed up and reported back to Caverion at least biannually.
“I think this was a great initiative from Caverion and fits very well to our own sustainability targets. We want to make sure our processes are transparent and verifiable and we are making our part for more sustainable future,” says Jaakko Tapanainen, Managing Partner, Tietoevry Tech Services.
Caverion is committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which is driving ambitious climate action globally. SBTi enables companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Climate Agreement and to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. Caverion’s environmental targets will be soon validated against science-based criteria by SBTi.
